“Insight”,  noun.  an instance of apprehending the true nature of a thing, especially through intuitive understanding. an understanding of the motivational forces behind one’s actions, thoughts, or behavior; self-knowledge.

Alabama coach Paul “Bear” Bryant put it perfectly: “If anything goes bad, I did it. If anything goes semi-good, we did it. If anything goes really good, then you did it. That’s all it takes to get people to win football games for you.”

The top three predictors of employee satisfaction at work….
Research and experience tell us that it takes a number of positive attributes to increase employee engagement and satisfaction at work. The top three are (#2 and #3 are tied for 2nd place).

  1. The job itself: Is the role well-defined; do the work processes flow as well as possible; does the job content fit with the skills and interests of the employee?
  2. The employee’s relationship with his or her supervisor: Does the supervisor treat the employee with respect; does he or she communicate regularly and give timely feedback?
  3. The employee’s relationship with his or her coworkers: Do all members of the team pull their weight equally; are the interpersonal relationships conflict-free or are conflicts resolved effectively; do people help each other out when needed?
    Yes, pay and benefits are farther down the list; believe it or not.
